Take the driveway to the left of the bakery into our parking lot, which leads to our main entrance.
Amycakes opened in August of 2009 in downtown Springfield, moving to the Walnut Street location in August of 2014 . Specializing in decorated and custom cakes and cupcakes, Amycakes is a locally-owned, family business. Everything is made-from-scratch so it tastes as moist, flavorful and delicious as it looks!
Amy has loved to bake all her life, and as a child loved baking with her Grandma. During her years in college she found herself tweaking recipes and baking at all hours of the night. The most rewarding part was finding hungry friends to test the finished product — and they weren't hard to find! She graduated from Drury in 2008 with an Arts Administration degree, and decided baking was the only thing she could see herself doing for the rest of her life. It's an art form and a science, and she'll never grow tired of creating the perfect dessert! Flavor is the most important element to Amy. When she's not living at the bakery, Amy enjoys quality time with family, friends, her husband, Gabe (business owner and glass-maker at Springfield Hot Glass), and their two vicious fluffballs of dogs, Charlie and Cupcake. They welcomed their first "Babycake" in January of 2017.
Paige can usually be found working swiftly in the back of Amycakes, whether it's baking, frosting, or decorating--Paige does it all! Originally from Sainte Genevieve, Missouri, Paige got her Culinary Arts Degree at East Central College in Union, MO, where she was also Captain of the Volleyball Team.
Katlin grew up on a farm and loves the farm life! She always helped her mom in the kitchen, where she discovered how much she loves to bake. She graduated from Marshfield High and attended OTC for 2 years, studying Wildlife Biology. In her spare time, Katlin loves reading, crafting, spending time with her husband, and helping out on her parents' farm.
Deanna claims Texas as her home even though she has lived in 3 different states since then. She was accepted into a well-known Dental Program in Colorado only to discover how badly she wanted to pursue Pastry Arts, which led her down a trail of events landing her in Springfield. Deanna loves that food and more importantly that CAKE brings people together. People who know her say she adores miniature things, goofy kids and blue bell’s banana pudding ice cream! She is glad to be a Missourian for the past 3 years, but she does miss the Colorado Mountains! Her friends and family are scattered all across the states so she is a big fan of skype dates and plane rides.
Emma-Quin is a student at Drury University, studying to be a high school history teacher. She loves food and the joy that it brings when shared, especially sweets. When not in the kitchen, she can be found hanging around in her hammock, reading nonfiction, or sleeping.
Natalie recently graduated from Ozark High School and is attending Missouri State University this fall to study journalism. She realized she had a love for baking by spending time at her grandma's house, where sweet treats were always in the works! When Natalie isn't baking she is often traveling, writing, hanging out with friends, or watching movies.
