SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Area businesses are helping the child advocacy center celebrate it's birthday this week.

The Child Advocacy Center opened it's doors in Springfield on September 21st, 1995.  It is designed to be a safe and comforting place for children who are victims of crime can tell their story to experts.

Those experts work with investigators, law enforcement and mental health specialists to help those young victims in a 16-county area.

Beginning today, seven local treat shops are featuring special desserts to support the CAC services for kids in Greene and Christian counties.

A portion of all dessert proceeds goes to the Child Advocacy Center all week.
